Building off our highly-rated IRF Boot Camp offered at the Annual Educational Conference, the Advanced IRF Boot Camp will deepen attendee knowledge and application of setting an operational vision, referral development strategies for rehab programs of any size, using data in program improvement, and reducing internal and external barriers to entry for an IRF.

Among the valuable information shared, these sessions will touch on content included in the Hospital Processes and Strategic Plan sections of the MRMC Exam.

Setting a Path Forward

• IRF Programs are in a mature business state which requires leaders to set a vision for change to bring value to customers and payers.  This session serves to provide tools for setting and promoting the path forward.

Building Volume

• Successful IRF programs have formalized referral development programs and it is up to leaders to build and sustain these programs.  This session provides the practical components for a comprehensive referral development program whether a 12-bed program or a 40-bed program.

The Value of Data Analysis

• A common problem of rehab programs is a wealth of data and no data analysis.  This session examines program outcomes and provides case examples on how to easily analyze data for program change.  Don’t be swamped by data.

Reducing Barriers to Entry

• There are internal and external barriers to entry for an IRF and this session reviews two elements.  Externally IRF programs have to deal with bundled payments, ACOs, IPAs and other barriers.  Internally IRF programs have built limitations on admissions that are historical but not based on the regulations.  This session provides a primer on externally based barriers and how to approach.  Internal limitations are examined through a presentation of building and supporting an expansive admission criteria.
