Advocacy

AMRPA's  focus is on collective advocacy -- working together to advance the field of medical rehabilitation and support the medical rehabilitation needs of persons with disabilities.

The many critical legislative and policy issues AMRPA is working on include the Recovery Audit Contractor Program (RAC) and Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) activities and reviews; bundling; health care reform; 75% Rule implementation and study; IRF PPS rules and criteria; accountable care organizations (ACO); continuing care hospitals; annual Federal budget proposals; research and demonstration projects such as the Post Acute Care Payment Reform Demonstration Project (CARE tool); Medicare Physician Fee Schedule; therapy caps, and outpatient therapy payment alternatives.
