Fun Things to do in Philadelphia

Visit the Rocky Statue
The Rocky Statue and the “Rocky Steps” are two of the most popular tourist attractions in Philadelphia. The Rocky Statue is a larger-than-life bronze sculpture immortalizing the fictional character who has become the city's unofficial underdog mascot, the inspirational tale of a boxer, Rocky Balboa. Originally created for the movie Rocky III in 1982, this statue has become one of Philadelphia’s most famous pieces of public art.

Reading Terminal Market
Reading Terminal Market, one of the nation’s oldest and largest public markets, first opened in 1893. Today, it stands out as one of the greatest public markets in the country. Visitors can enjoy eating a wide swath of different cuisines, from sublime soul food and exquisite Asian and Middle Eastern dishes to authentic Philly cheesesteaks and traditional Pennsylvania Dutch fare — all available from largely locally owned, family-run stands.

Check Out the Liberty Bell
Part of the U.S. National Park Service and Independence National Historical Park, the Liberty Bell’s home on Independence Mall looms as powerful and dramatic as the bell itself. Throughout the expansive, light-filled center, larger-than-life historic documents and graphic images explore the facts and the myths surrounding the bell. People from around the world snag a photo in front of the iconic American symbol and its dramatic backdrop: Independence Hall. Best of all: The Liberty Bell Center is free to visit, with no advance tickets required.

LOVE Sculpture
No Philly experience is complete without snapping a photo in front of one of The City of Brotherly Love’s best-known landmarks: LOVE itself. The famous Robert Indiana sculpture is in John F. Kennedy Plaza — better known as LOVE Park — just northwest of City Hall. Installed in 1976, LOVE was briefly removed in 1978, but popular demand brought it back where it belongs. In conjunction with the renovation of John F. Kennedy Plaza, the sculpture was restored, repainted and reinstalled in its original location in 2018.
