National Rehabilitation Awareness Week

In 2026, we will celebrate National Rehabilitation Awareness Week (NRAW) during the week of September 14-20, 2026, with the theme of “Building Futures Through Rehabilitation.”

In recognition of the benefits of rehabilitation and the successes of those who have received treatment through all forms rehabilitation, the National Rehabilitation Awareness Foundation (NRAF) recognizes National Rehabilitation Awareness Week during the third full week in September every year.

NRAW 2026 Contest

This National Rehabilitation Awareness Week, AMRPA wants to celebrate the people and stories behind rehabilitation, and we want you to be part of it. We invite rehabilitation professionals, teams, and organizations to share an inspiring story, photo, video, or resource that captures what rehabilitation means to you, and how your team is celebrating.

Show us how you are celebrating NRAW 2026. We want you to get creative! Some examples of what you can submit are listed below:

  • A photo of your team or NRAW celebration
  • A short video featuring your team or sharing why you chose rehabilitation
  • A testimonial or personal reflection
  • A story about a meaningful moment in your rehabilitation career or within your organization
  • A team spotlight highlighting the people who make your program special
  • Resources that highlight the work your team is doing, or something you’ve put together for NRAW

Submission Guidelines

Email submissions to [email protected]. Submissions should include the following information:

  • Your name
  • Organization Name
  • Attach or link to your submission documents. Feel free to include multiple resources, and a combination of different types. 

Every eligible submission will be entered into a drawing for a $500 gift card to treat your rehabilitation team to lunch! Submit your story and help AMRPA celebrate the people and passion behind rehabilitation.

Deadline to submit is Monday, September 21.

By submitting materials, you grant AMRPA permission to use the submitted content in its communications, including social media, website, email, publications, and other promotional materials. Please ensure that any patient-related content is submitted with appropriate permissions and does not contain protected health information.

Membership

AMRPA is the nation’s only organization dedicated to inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and units (IRH/Us) and outpatient rehabilitation providers.

As part of the week, NRAF aims to:

  • educate people about the benefits and impact of rehabilitation,
  • develop programs that aim to increase opportunities for the nearly 50 million Americans with disabilities
  • and help those who are disabled live up to their fullest potential.

AMRPA celebrates National Rehabilitation Awareness Week with daily activities on its social media channels (Facebook and LinkedIn).

We will focus on raising awareness of the #PowerOfMedicalRehab providing information on inpatient medical rehabilitation patient outcomes, disseminating useful resources and reviewing patient journeys to recovery.

We encourage you to take part in the celebration with us by accessing our easy-to-use and -share promotional toolkit produced every year, which includes our general graphic and accompanying suggested messaging for sharing on X (Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, as well as through email, WhatsApp and other popular channels.

Alternatively, you will also be able to download a graphic to use to add your organization’s logo and share on your social media channels. Suggested messaging will also be provided to accompany your posts.
