Meet Our Presenters

Terrence Carolan, MBA, MSPT, Managing Director, Medical Rehabilitation and Aging Services, CARF InternationalÂ
Terrence Carolan is a physiotherapist and has been with CARF International since 2011 as Managing Director of Medical Rehabilitation and Aging Services and an administrative and program surveyor. Prior to this he was with Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, where he led the Amputee Rehabilitation Program and the Assistive Technology, Seating and Positioning program. At Select Medical’s Inpatient Rehab Division he was responsible for Program Development and Education across 31 rehabilitation hospitals. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The College of New Jersey, a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Simmons University and a Master of Business Administration from University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. Terrence grew up in a multigenerational home and lives on the Jersey Shore with his two daughters.Â

Amanda Parezo, OTD, MS, OTR/L, Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, Thomas Jefferson University
Dr. Amanda Parezo is an Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the
Occupational Therapy department at Thomas Jefferson University. A graduate of Jefferson’s
Master’s in OT program and holding a Doctorate in OT from Salus University,
she brings over a decade of clinical experience, primarily working with older adults with
traumatic brain injury at MossRehab, and holds a specialty certificate in vision
rehabilitation. In 2021, Dr. Parezo experienced a life-altering spinal cord injury, undergoing
intensive rehabilitation herself at Magee Rehabilitation. This profound personal experience,
combined with her extensive clinical background, fuels her passion as a powerful
community advocate and role model, offering unique insights into resilience, recovery, and
the patient experience.

Michelle Konkoly‎, MD‎, PGY5 Pediatrics/PM&R Resident, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital
Michelle Konkoly is a PGY5 combined Pediatrics/PM&R resident at the Nemours/Thomas Jefferson University Hospital program in Philadelphia. After sustaining an incomplete L2 SCI as an 18 years old Division 1 swimmer at Georgetown University, she completed months of inpatient and outpatient rehab at Magee Rehab, eventually regaining enough function in her legs to walk and return to the pool. Due to some permanent deficits in her legs, she pivoted into the world of Paralympic swimming, eventually becoming a 4 time medalist for Team USA at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janiero. She went on to complete medical school at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, and is currently finishing her residency, including working at the same hospital where she was once treated as a patient, with plans to pursue a career in pediatric rehabilitation with an emphasis on adaptive sports.Â

 Stephanie Dunn MS CCC-SLP, Speech Pathologist, Jefferson Einstein Healthcare NetworkÂ
Stephanie Dunn is a therapist who acquired necrotizing fascitis in Oct 2022. After almost two weeks of debridements, she became septic again and eventually had a left above knee amputation. She had rehabilitation to walk with socket prosthetics and with osseointegration. She returned to work as a better therapist.Â
