AMRPA Policy Statement on Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination of Health Care Personnel

On December 11, 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued the first emergency use ‎authorization (EUA) for a COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine, developed by Pfizer-BioNTech, is now ‎approved for use in people 16 years of age and older. Based on recommendations from the Centers ‎for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and it is ‎expected that frontline health care workers and long-term care facility residents will be eligible to begin ‎receiving vaccinations. The FDA issued the second EUA for a COVID-19 vaccine on December 20, 2020 The vaccine, developed by Moderna, is now ‎approved for use in people 18 years of age and older. Based on recommendations from the Centers ‎for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). A list of resources available to providers related to the vaccine are ‎available below:‎
